Domestic black tea is now produced in many of Japan's green tea regions. Its production actually dates back to shortly after World War II, giving it a long history. Although it temporarily declined due to import liberalization and pressure from imported teas from countries like India and Sri Lanka, this high-quality domestic black tea is once again gaining attention.
